One of the favorite dishes from Indian Chinese cuisine is chili paneer. this paneer chili recipe gives restaurant style taste and flavor. This is a starter but you can also be served schezwan fried rice, tandoori roti or naan, noodles, it also goes well a side dish. we all love indo-chinese recipe is like by most of the Indians. basically the recipe is derived from the well-known chili chicken or chicken chili for non-meat or vegetarian lovers .chilli paneer recipe which includes the gravy, dry, or semi gravy recipe but in this recipe, I have shown a dry version with minimal gravy, ideal for party starters or appetizer. so I hope you enjoy making this recipe and let me know in the comment section about your experience this recipe.

INGREDIENTS FOR CHILLI PANEER
1 CUP = 250 ML
For batter
 2 tbsp Cornstarch ( also known as corn flour in India)
 3 tbsp Maida (all purpose flour)
 ½ tsp Ginger paste
 ½ tsp Garlic paste
 ¼ tsp White pepper powder
 ¼ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
 1 tsp fine chopped garlic
 ½ tsp fine chopped green chili for taste (optional)
 Pinch of MSG (optional)
 Pinch of food color (optional)
 Salt as per taste
 ¼ cup Water or ad as required
FOR FRYING PANEER
 Oil for deep frying
 200 g Paneer cut in cubes
FOR CHILLI PANEER GRAVY OR SAUCE
 2 Green chilli , vertically slit or sliced
 2 tsp Finely chopped ginger
 2 tsp Finely chopped garlic
 1 Onion very fine chopped
 1 Onion cut into cubes
 1 Green , red capsicum cut into cubes
 ½ tsp Tomato sauce
 1 tsp Red chili sauce
 1 tsp Soy sauce
 ½ tsp Rice Vinegar or white vinegar
 ½ tsp White pepper powder
 ½ tsp Red chili powder
 ½ tsp Sugar or add as required
 Salt to taste
 1 tbsp Corn flour
 2 tbsp Water for dissolving corn flour
 ½ cup Water as per required for gravy
 1 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped

Frying paneer for chilli paneer recipe

Firstly, take a bowl to add maida, cornflour, salt, white pepper powder, chopped garlic, chopped green chili, ginger, garlic paste, red chili powder, and food color mix wall ( food color is optional )

Add water mix well and make a slightly thick and smooth batter without any lumps

Add paneer cubes in the batter

Gently coat the paneer cubes with the batter carefully and marinate for 15 to 20 minutes

Take a pan or wok add oil for deep frying and heat it

Drop the marinated paneer cubes,deep fry

One side is done ,flip it and fry the other side,flip a couple of times and fry till the paneer cubes are crisp and golden

Remove the fried paneer and place them on kitchen paper towels for the extra oil to be absorbed

Keep aside

Making chilli paneer gravy or sauce

Take a pan or wok, add 1 tabs oil and heat it

Add finely chopped garlic, ginger

Stir fry on high flame for few seconds

Then add finely chopped onion or spring onions

Add sliced onion cubes

Stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes

Next add sliced capsicum cube

Stir fry on high flame for 3 to 4 minutes

Add Kashmiri red chili powder, white pepper powder, soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato sauce, and MSG ( MSG) is optional

Stir and mix the sauces well

Add sliced green chilli with the remaining stir fried ingredients

Add 1/2 cup water mix well

Take a small bowl to add corn flour add 2 to 3 tablespoon water for dissolving corn flour If you can food color then add mix well

Add corn flour paste to the gravy

As soon as you add cornflour paste to the gravy, mix the paste very well so that no lumps are formed add vinegar mix well

Add 1/2 to 1 tea spoon sugar and add salt as per taste

Mix very well ,the chilli paneer sauce has slightly thickened add the fried paneer cubes

Mix paneer cubes very well with the gravy

Add chopped coriander leaves mix well

Now chilli paneer is ready to be served

NOTES : By adding less or more sauce and water you can change of the consistency of the chilli paneer sauce or gravy by making it thin or thick. Do not deep fry the paneer cubes for a long time as the paneer may turn hard and chewy.
