
2 cups Rice
1 cup Urad dal
Salt as required

Wash and soak urad dal & rice allow to soak for 6 to 8 hrs.

Now drain the excess water from soaked dal & rice

Take a grinder jar and add soaked dal & rice ,grind adding little water at a time

Grind it to absolute smooth and fluffy paste

Take it out in a bowl and add salt

Mix well the batter should be of smooth & frothy consistency

Cover up and keep a side for 6 to 7 hrs. for fermenting

After fermenting we can see the batter is frothy & well rised

Grease the idly holder or pan well with oil

Fill each of them with batter

Steam cook in an idly cooker

Cooked for 15 mins or until done

Once cooked remove from heat allow to cool

Gently take the soft idlie from the plate

Now enjoy hot & fluffy idlies along with sambar & chutney
