Sattu Paratha recipe – How to make Sattu Paratha – Easy Traditional Sattu Paratha Recipe

Sattu Paratha  is a delicious and lip-smacking recipe.  Sattu Ka Paratha Recipe is made out of sattu (roasted gram flour) and atta(common wheat flour) This is a treat for any paratha lover.

Stuffing
 1 cup Sattu
 1 Medum size onion
 2 Green chilli(Crushed)
 1 tbsp Mustard oil
 1 tbsp Pickle oil and some masala
 1 tsp Ginger(Crushed)
 1 tsp Garlic(Crushed)
 Salt to test
For Paratha
 2 cups wheat flour
 ¼ tsp Ajwain
 ¼ tsp Onion seeds (Kalonji/mangrela)
 1 tsp Hing
 ½ tsp Salt
 1 tbsp Oil
 Water for kneading the dough

In a Bowl, mix all the ingredients mentioned under for stuffing section.Mix well and add a little water to bind the stuffing. The cosistency should be enough to bind the stuffing together.

For parathas ,take wheat flour, add oil, salt ,hing,ajwain seeds and onion seeds.Adding a little water at a time knead to chapati dough consistency.

Pick a blob of kneaded atta and roll it into a sphere with your palms. Press and flatten it into a disk of about 2-inch diameter and make a depression in it with your fingers.

Bring the edges of the dough around and seal the edges at the top,flattening the stuff dough gently.

Press some (about 2 tea spoons ) of the sattu filling into the depression.

Roll out the paratha in gentle , even strokes into a disk 5-inch in diameter.

Heat a flat tava (PREFERABLY NON-STICK).Place a rolled-out paratha on the pan to cook on medium heat. When the surface close to the heat start spotting with brown dots(about2 mins),flip it over.

Sprinkle a few drops of oil or ( ghee) on the paratha and spread on the surface.After two minutes,flip again and repeat on the other side of the paratha.

When both sides of the sattu paratha are toasted, remove it and keep a side.

Serve sattu paratha hot with youjurt, coriander chutney and any bharata.
