Matar Paneer, a delicious combination of soft paneer and healthy green peas in a mild spicy tomato , onion based gravy, is a treat to taste buds at anytime.this simple matar paneer recipe makes irresistibly tasty curry by making some changes to its preparation; the shallow fried paneer cubes brings in subtle taste and texture while cashew nut paste makes it rich and creamy. While, my husband and son are not so great fan of recipes involving peas, but for some reason matar paneer is an exception. Hence, most of the time, i end up preparing matar paneer recipe in my home ,also the big advantage of this recipe is it can be easily served with both rice and roti.

2 Medium onion
8 Garlic cloves
2 Inch ginger
2 Green chili
1 Medium tomato grinde
2 tbsp Cashew nut paste
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Cumin seeds (jeera)
½ tsp Kashmiri chili powder
1 tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp Coriander powder
½ tsp Cumin powder
1 tsp Garam masala powder
250 g Paneer
400 g Peas
Salt to taste
Water ,add to adjust consistency
Coriander leaves chopped
Ghee, butter optional
1 Take onion , garlic, ginger and blend to smooth paste keep aside
2 Heat oil in a pan add paneer saute 3 to 4 minutes
3 In the same pan add oil heat them add cumin seeds let them pop
4 Then add blended onion,garlic ,ginger paste saute till turns slightly golden brown
5 add turmeric powder,coriander powder, cumin powder and chili powder mix well
6 fry them add peas and salt mix well
7 Cover the led
8 Saute till turns peas soft then add tomato paste mix well
9 Cook 4 to 5 minutes
10 Add cashew nut paste mix well
11 Add garam masala powder cook few minutes
12 Add paneer and water
13 Cover and simmer for 5 minutes
14 Finally add ghee
15 Now matar paneer is ready garnish with coriander leaves
16 Serve with chapati or nan
