Khichdi is a dish wich is mainly prepared from rice and lentils (dal),and it is literally means mixture.Khichdi can be prepared with various lentils but mix dal is my preference when it comes to khichdi.Khichdi can be served with accompaniments like papad,pickels,fryams or curd.

250gmix daal (Toor,Chana,Moong) clean and washed
150gRice (clean and washed )
2tbspOil
1tspCumin seeds
1tspTurmeric powder
2Onion medium size finely chopped
2Green chilies crushed
5Garlic cloves crushed
1stickGinger crushed
½tspBlack pepper powder
2tspKitchen king masala
2tbspKasuri methi
½tspHing
2tspGhee
Salt to taste
water as per require

Take a presser cooker and add all daal

Add salt,turmeric along water into a presser cooker and cook it on high flame till 4 to 5 whistle

Now dal is cooked

Now add rice and mix them well,now add some water and cook it on high flame .

Cook until a 2 whistles are heard, and then remove the pressure-cooker from flame.

For tempering, take a pan and pour the oil, add the cumin seeds and hing, stir for a minutes and then add chopped onion,and saute till the color of onions turns golden brown.

Then add crushed green chili,crushed garlic,crushed ginger and saute for 1 minutes then add black papper powder and kitchen king masala and keep stirring it.

Pour this tempring in to the khichdi, and mix well

Crush roasted kasuri methi properly using your hands.

Now sprinkle roasted kasuri methi into your khichdi mix well
