2 Apple (peeled and shredded or fine chopped)
½ Lemon juice (for prevent enzymatic browning of apple slice)
1 cup Sugar (You can increase or reduce the quantity as per your requirement)
1 cup Freshly grated coconut or desiccated
1 tbsp Water
½ tsp Cardamom powder( Crushed cardamom)
½ cup Chopped Mix dried fruit ( Cashew nut, Almond, Walnut )
1 tbsp Sliced Pistachios for garnishing
1 Take apple
2 Peel them
3 Peel and shred or fine chopped the apple
4 Put it aside in a bowl add a few lemon juice to prevent enzymatic browning of apple slices mix them
5 Now, place a non-stick pan over medium flame
6 Add grated coconut along with sugar
7 Mix well
8 Add apple
9 Add 1 tbsp water so that mixture doesn't get burned
10 I have also kept the flame on medium level
11 Keep mixing till the mixture starts coming together
12 Stirring time to time
13 Cook it for 8 to 10 minutes, until the apple is nicely cooked
14 The mixture should tn the consistency of soft dough
15 Then add crushed cardamom mix well
16 Add dried fruit and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes
17 Mix well
18 Now greased the plate with ghee or oil
19 Pour the mixture in the plate
20 Spread the barfi mixture on it using spatula,
21 Sprinkle the pistachios over it and gently press again
22 Press the mixture to make it firm
23 Now let the mixture cool down
24 And then we need to keep this in refrigerate it for about 4 hours to set the mixture
