Raw Banana Koftas is an interesting lunch/dinner recipe. Raw Banana Kofta or kela kofta curry can be made in few ways one is the one that i am posting a proper North Indian style, we personally prefer this home style of kofta curry. Kofta is something that generally made during special celebration, festival or occasion as it’s sure little time consuming compare to other routine side dish as we have to prepare kofta, fry it and also making the gravy but the end result is always worth it. Kachche kela kofta curry or kele ke kofte, raw banana kofta curry is one of the popular kofta curry made with plantain fried dumplings or kofta served with roti , rice . For Koftas
5 Raw bananas
2 tbsp Cornflour
2 tbsp Crushed ginger , garlic or paste
1 tsp Crushed green chilli
1 tsp Black pepper powder
Salt to tast
For Gravy
1 Large onion fine chopped
1 tbsp Garlic crushed
1 tbsp Ginger crushed
2 Medium tomatoes grinned ( pureed ) or as per your required
2 tbsp Coriander powder
1 tbsp Kitchen king masala ( optional )
1 tsp Red chilli powder or according to taste
1 tsp Dry kasuri methi leaves
Oil as per your requirement
1 tsp Garam masala
1 tbsp Turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp Cumin seeds ( jeera )
1 Bay leaf ( tej patta )
½ tsp Hing ( asefoetida )
2 tbsp Fresh cream
Finely chopped coriander leaves
1 Boil the raw banana to 3 whistles . when the bananas are cooked, take it out in a plate and allow it to cool completely.
2 Remove the skin from banana
3 Mash the banana
4 Add cornflour
5 Add salt black pepper powder
6 Add crushed ginger , garlic, and green chilli
7 Add red chilli powder Mix well
8 Knead it to from a dough
9 Make ( prepare ) the balls from the mixture ( dough )
10 In a kadhi heat the oil, and when it is heated properly
11 Add the kofta balls
12 Fry in medium flame till it turns golden brown
13 It will take about 10 mins.
14 Take out the kofta balls in absorbent paper .
15 Keep aside
17 Add cumin seeds bay leaf and hing
18 Crackle them
19 Add chopped onion
20 Fry till it turns brown and leaves the sides
21 Add crushed ginger, garlic fry well
22 Add all spices and saute it for 3 to 4 minutes
23 Add tomato puree
24 Cook it till it starts oil leaving the sides
25 Add water
26 Allow the gravy to boil cover the lid
27 When it comes to gravy boil
28 Add koftas
29 Cook for 2 min on medium flame cover the lid
30 Add coriander leaves
31 Turn off the flame
32 Add fresh cream
33 Now Raw Banana kofta curry is ready to serve
34 Serve it hot with roti , rice , naan.
