For the Vadas
250 g Urad dal (split black lentils)
salt to taste
For the topping
1 cup Dahi (Curds)
½ tsp Chili powder
½ tsp Roasted cumin seeds (jeera) powder for sprinkling
Black salt (sanchal) for taste
1 tbsp Khajur imli (tamarind) ki chutney
½ tsp Maggi hot&sweet tomato sauce
1 tbsp Finely chopped coriander (dhaniya)
Chaat masala for sprinkling
1Clean,wash and soak the daal overnight or 7 to 8 hrs.

2Separate the water and grind them into smooth paste without water or necessary then very little water

3Take out the paste in a bowl and then beat the mixture for 5-10 minutes till the mixture becomes fluffy.This will make the vadas soft add salt

4Heat oil in a pan for frying and drop small balls of batter in the oil . The flame should be medium

5Till they turn light golden brown in color from all the sides

6Drain on absorbent paper. keep aside

7Take enough water in a deep bowl and soak the vadas

8Prepare the dahi (curd) beat the curd smooth add salt red chili powder

9Squeeze out all the excess water from the vadas and flatten lightly between your palms
