Coconut Chutney Recipe – Nariyal Chutney Recipe – Chutney For Dosa & Idli

There are several chutney recipe from the south Indian cusine palette ,but without any doubt, coconut chutney is the king of all chutneys.Perhaps the popularity of south Indian breakfast recipes is complete without the existence of nariyal chutney recipe ,hence i guess it is also known as idli dosa chutney .Further there are many adulterated version of nariyal chutney recipe too. These recipe include , adding peanut, roasted chana dal but nothing can replace the simple touch of plain coconut chutney recipe.

 1 cup Fresh coconut desiccated
 5 Garlic clove
 3 Green chili
 2 tsp Oil
 1 tsp Mustard seeds (rai)
 1 Dried red chili
 Few curry leaves
 Salt to taste
 Water per your required

Firstly in a blander take grated coconut , green chili, garlic clove, salt

Add water as required depending on veriety of coconut used

Blend to smooth paste adding more water if required

4

Now prepare the tempering by heating 2 tsp oil

Add mustard seeds, dried red chili and curry leaves allow to splutter

Finally pour the tempering over coconut chutney and

Serve with idli, or dosa
