Muthia Recipe – How to Make Muthia – Tasty Muthia Recipe

Muthia is a Gujarati snack. The steamed muthias can be made in advance and then added to any veggie dish. You can make muthia and serve them with any type of sauce or chutney, its a really delicious all time snacks which is very tasty and is also good for health as it contains no fats or cholesterol, it can be cooked as per your choice whether it is roasted or shallow fried both taste equally well. If you have kind in your home who hate veggies, this the perfect recipe.

  cup Chana dal
  cup Moong dal
  cup Arhar dal
 1 cup Rice
 200 g Grated louki
 100 g Methi leaves finely chopped
 200 g Palak leaves finely chopped
 100 Coriander leaves finely chopped
 2 tbsp Oil
 1 tsp Garlic paste or crushed
 ½ tsp Green chili paste or crushed
 1 tsp Red chili powder
 ½ tsp Turmeric powder
 1 tbsp Suger
 ½ tbsp Teel
 ½ tsp Cumin seeds
 1 tbsp Pickle masala
 ½ tsp Hing
 Pinch of baking soda

Take equal parts of dal and rice

Take grated lauki, chopped palak, chopped methi ,chopped coriander

Heat a pan and add all dal roast them without oil on medium flam

Keep aside for cooling

Heat a pan add rice and roast them without oil on medium flam

Keep aside for cooling

Take a mixi jar add all dal and grind them without water,but make sure that it is not grind very fine

Take a mixi jar add rice and grind them without water, but make sure that it is not grind very fine

Take a large bowl add grind dal, grind rice and all ingredients ,as listed

Mix well all ingredients and add water

Mix well all ingredients now reedy for steam

Take a steamer or idli stand add 1-2 inches of water in to the steamer and let the water come to a simer,meanwhile grease the tray and add the mixture

steam them 25 to 30 minutes check by insesting a knife or toothpick if it comes out clean then it is done.cooking time may very depending on the thickness of your mixture

Heat the oil for tempering once add mustard seeds,let them pop,then add sesame seeds let them pop,noe add hingand cury leaves

Remove it to another plate and let it cool for 5 minutes

Immediately add muthia and saute for few minutes and let it brown and crisp up a little bit,do turn them to get even crispness from both sides

Now muthia is reedy, serve it hot with chutney
